so i can definitely see how people might get confused by the number of seiko releases that happen throughout the year today another new release from seiko actually two watches there's the seiko prospects 1965 62 moss divers modern reinterpretation that is the spb 239 and then there is prospects 1970
captain willard diver's modern
reinterpretation the spb 2 3 7. so essentially what seiko is saying ever
since seiko's first divers watch
was introduced in 1965 the company has
continuously pushed back the boundaries of what
divers watches can offer today seiko
introduces in the prospects collection two modern
reinterpretations of landmark timepieces from 1965
that's the 62 moss and 1970
that is the captain willard that are
presented on special fabric straps designed and
manufactured expressively
for divers use both creations share the
same design and specifications as the 1965
and 1970 modern reinterpretations
introduced last year in celebration of the 55th
anniversary of seiko's first divers watch the brown
dial and bezel of the 1965 reinterpretation
and the textured gray dial
of the 1970s reinterpretation perfectly
harmonized with the earth color tones of their
fabric straps so yes these are very similar to the
55th anniversary editions that they recently released of
the 1965 first divers watch the 62 moss and then
of course the captain willard from 1970
they did that for the 55th anniversary
these are on straps however those came on
bracelets so what they're doing is
they're giving you a set of two straps
with these these are nato straps with a really nice
japanese weave to them
there's a little patch on there that
identifies them as seiko straps
and they are good looking straps these
are basically nato straps as i mentioned
you're getting two different colors as
sort of a brown color and a green color
and these watches are very good-looking
watches uh however these are
kind of on the more expensive size that
you're not getting a bracelet with them this is all the same
information and same
uh specs that we got from those previous
versions those
those 55th anniversary versions they're
stainless steel cases with super hard
coating you're getting a 6r35 which is seiko's
slightly upgraded version of their mid-range sort
of movement you're getting a curved sapphire crystal
on both of them with anti-reflective coating screw-down crowns screwed in case backs 200 meters
of water resistance luma bright of course um the 62 moss is in 40.5 millimeters with a 13.2
millimeter thickness that's the spb239 and then the willard
that's getting a 42.7 millimeter case
with a 13.2 millimeter thickness that's
the spb 237 so exactly what we
got before same specs exactly
essentially and you're getting that really nice gray
dial which is textured on the willard
brown dial on that 62 moss which is sort
of a sunburst dial and you're getting ceramic bezels on
these as well i believe two polyester straps are included so
like i said you're getting two of these
nato straps however these are on the pricier side so
they're saying for the
three nine the two three nine which is
the 62 moss they're asking 1250 euro
so this is on the more expensive side
especially when you translate that to us
dollars i think this will probably come across
at around 1250 to 1350
in the united states in dollars however
the uh captain willard they're charging even
more that's 13.50 in euros so this should be around 14.50
in the united states so around 1500
for that spb 237 so they're actually charging a premium for that
watch i don't really understand why
uh but it is more money these are great
looking watches i really love these
straps i like that uh earthy tone to these straps they're
offering two other versions of these straps as well that
you can purchase and they're sort of
like a mustard brown yellow color both of them are very
similar in that tone very good looking straps and they look
very well made i'm not sure that they
warrant these prices however that's what they're asking for
they're not giving you a bracelet on
these you're only getting those two
straps so that's what they are these are not
special editions these are not limited
editions i think these are
full production runs so these should be
available in june so keep an eye out if you are
interested again on the more expensive side very good
looking watches very well made watches
as you know i've recently reviewed the captain willard on
my channel i have an sbdc061
i love both of those watches i think
they're really well made and these are
very well made as well i'm sure
please tell me what you guys think in
the comments below what do you think of
these straps i think these are really nice from seiko
something a little bit different
not your typical nato strap hopefully
these are a little bit higher quality
than the typical nato strap that
we get from seiko uh in the past i have
had a few nato straps from seiko that haven't been
so great but tell me what you guys think
in the comments below please don't
forget. THANK you
